Not more than 3 persons are allowed in places of worship: DC Cachar

July 30: Amidst the rising number of coronavirus cases in Cachar, Keerthi Jalli, Deputy Commissioner cum Chairperson of District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) in an order issued on Wednesday stated that no more than 3 people are allowed in religious places.

The order was issued in pursuance with Minutes of State level Empowered Committee Meeting on COVID-19, wherein it was stated that in view of the constant increase in COVID positive cases, the following points are to be noted and abided by all:

• Avoiding mass gathering during festival time.
• Not more than 3 persons will be allowed in the place of worship. They have to observe all COVID protocols strictly.
• All religious and political gatherings will continue to remain prohibited till further orders.

The Deputy Commissioner further stated that, “Anybody found violating the same is punishable under relevant Section of Disaster Management Act, 2005 & IPC. The order shall come into force with immediate effect.”
