Northeast NSS Festival Begins at Assam University
নর্থইস্ট এনএসএস ফেস্টিভ্যাল শুরু আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ২ জানুয়ারি : আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে বৃহস্পতিবার থেকে শুরু হল নর্থইস্ট এনএসএস ফেস্টিভ্যাল-২০২৬। এদিন বিপিনচন্দ্র পাল মিলনায়তনে আয়োজিত উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন সাংসদ পরিমল শুক্লবৈদ্য। জাতীয় সেবা যোজনার মূল আদর্শ ও মূল্যবোধকে আরও দৃঢ় করার লক্ষ্যেই এই পাঁচ দিনের এই উৎসবের আয়োজন।

শুরুতে স্বাগত বক্তব্য রাখার পাশাপাশি এই উৎসবের লক্ষ্যের ওপর আলোকপাত করেন আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় এনএসএস সেলের প্রোগ্রাম কো-অর্ডিনেটর অধ্যাপক এম. গঙ্গাভূষণ। অনুষ্ঠানে অন্যদের মধ্যে বক্তব্য পেশ করেন গুরুচরণ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক নিরঞ্জন রায়, কাছাড় ক্যান্সার হাসপাতালের পরিচালক ডা. রবি কান্নান, ডা. কেশব ওয়ালকে, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের নিবন্ধক ড. প্রদোষ কিরণ নাথ, গুয়াহাটি এনএসএসের কার্যকর্তা এন. সি. দেওরি প্রমুখ।

বক্তারা সমাজসেবামূলক কর্মকাণ্ডে যুবসমাজের সক্রিয় অংশগ্রহণ ও উত্তর-পূর্ব ভারতের যুবকদের মধ্যে ঐক্যের গুরুত্বের ওপর আলোকপাত করেন। তাঁরা এনএসএস স্বেচ্ছাসেবকদের দেশগঠনের কাজে আরও সক্রিয়ভাবে যুক্ত হওয়ার আহ্বান জানান। প্রধান অতিথি সাংসদ শুক্লবৈদ্য যুব নেতৃত্ব গঠন, সামাজিক দায়বদ্ধতা বৃদ্ধি এবং জাতীয় সংহতি সুদৃঢ় করার ক্ষেত্রে এনএসএস-এর গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকার কথা তুলে ধরেন।

উল্লেখ্য, এই উৎসবে উত্তর-পূর্ব ভারতের বিভিন্ন রাজ্যের এনএসএস স্বেচ্ছাসেবকরা অংশগ্রহণ করছেন। উৎসব চলাকালীন বিভিন্ন কর্মশালা, সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠান ও সমাজসেবামূলক কার্যক্রম অনুষ্ঠিত হবে, যার মাধ্যমে নেতৃত্ব বিকাশ, সাংস্কৃতিক আদান-প্রদান ও সামাজিক সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধির লক্ষ্য নেওয়া হয়েছে। প্রসঙ্গত, উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক রাজীব মোহন পন্থ বাইরে থাকায় এই উৎসবের সাফল্য কামনা করে শুভেচ্ছাবার্তা পাঠিয়েছেন।

Way2barak, January 2 : The Northeast NSS Festival–2026 commenced on Thursday at Assam University. The five-day festival was inaugurated at the Bipin Chandra Pal Auditorium in the presence of Member of Parliament Parimal Suklabaidya as the chief guest. The festival aims to further strengthen the core ideals and values of the National Service Scheme (NSS).

Delivering the welcome address, Prof. M. Gangabhushan, Programme Coordinator of the NSS Cell, Assam University, highlighted the objectives and significance of the festival. Among the other speakers were Prof. Niranjan Ray, Vice-Chancellor of Gurucharan University; Dr Ravi Kannan, Director of Cachar Cancer Hospital; Dr Keshab Walke; Registrar of the University Dr Pradosh Kiran Nath; and Guwahati NSS official N. C. Deori, among others.

The speakers emphasized the importance of active youth participation in social service activities and highlighted the need for unity among the youth of Northeast India. They called upon NSS volunteers to play a more proactive role in nation-building. Addressing the gathering, chief guest MP Parimal Suklabaidya underscored the crucial role of NSS in developing youth leadership, enhancing social responsibility, and strengthening national integration.

It may be noted that NSS volunteers from various states of Northeast India are participating in the festival. During the event, several workshops, cultural programmes, and social service activities will be organised with the objective of promoting leadership development, cultural exchange, and social awareness. Meanwhile, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajive Mohan Pant, who is currently out of station, conveyed his best wishes for the success of the festival through a message.
