None found Covid positive in Cachar on Thursday, 1 death at SMCH

There are 8 active cases in Cachar

Feb. 17: The number of coronavirus cases in Cachar district is gradually decreasing. The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Thursday at 7.46 PM. As per the latest data, none were found positive in the district on 17 February. Also, 01 patient was discharged during the day. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has gone down to 08, out of which, 01 is in home isolation whereas 07 are admitted in various hospitals of the district. The death toll in Cachar due to Covid has reached 36 this year.

As per the updated data, a total of 361 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, no person was found positive, whereas none were detected positive out of 163 RT-PCR Tests. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 Jan 2022 reached 6,417 whereas during this phase, 6,373 patients were discharged. There has been a steady decline in the number of daily positive cases in Cachar district. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 16 February to 5 PM on 17 February) witnessed the death of 01 more Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Thursday evening.

The deceased was identified as:

  • Sarna Bala Das (80) from Uttar Krishnapur Part II in Cachar district tested Covid positive and was admitted at SMCH on 9 February. The patient, however, breathed her last at 7.30 AM on 17 February, 2022. The patient was suffering from ARDS & pneumonia.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 17 February, there were no Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. In the last 24 hours, no Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH.
