Non-vaccinated persons won’t be allowed to avail govt facilities in Assam: Keshab Mahanta
Sept 2: While attending a review meeting held at the office Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup to take stock of the status of vaccination process in the said district, Health Minister Keshab Mahanta stated that if an individual has not taken even a single dose of COVID-19 vaccine, he or she will not be able to avail any government facility.
Keshab Mahanta further directed the Kamrup district administration to collect information on such people and vaccinate all those who are eligible in the district. He said, “If an eligible person does not take vaccine, he or she will not be able to avail government facilities in the future.” Minister Mahanta in this context asked the officials to collect information on the basis of electoral rolls and complete the inoculation drive by September end.
Keshab Mahanta also instructed to take up the vaccination process on the basis of the election system to ensure 100 percent vaccination of the eligible persons in the district. He said that the vaccination should be done at polling station level and even door to door if required. The review meeting was also attended by S. Lakshmanan, Mission Director, National Health Mission, Assam.
