No plan of imposing lockdown or curfew in Assam, reaffirms Himanta Biswa Sarma
April 17: Amid surge in number of COVID-19 cases, Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that there is no possibility of lockdown in the state. But at the same time, Himanta Biswa Sarma appealed to the people not to panic, but to remain alert. He also informed that the COVID-19 testing will be intensified in coming days. Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma was addressing a press conference held at at at GMCH Conference Hall (GMCH) Conference Hall, Guwahati on Saturday evening.
The Health Minister further rubbished claims of another lockdown doing rounds in few circles. He said that as of now the situation in the state is under control. He also revealed detailed plans of the state government for the treatment of Covid-19 patients. “As of now we have no plans to announce any lockdown or curfew. We appeal to SEBA to discuss with relevant authorities regarding the board exams and take a decision within the next 10 days,” tweeted Himanta Biswa Sarma.
