No COVID-19 patient died at GMCH, clarifies Himanta
April 12: A local daily newspaper had reported the death of a COVID-19 patient at Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH). This news has resulted in a panic. However, the fact remains that no such patient has died due to coronavirus in GMCH. It’s a fake information. This was informed by State Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
#FAKENEWS Alert!
NO #Covid_19 PATIENT HAS DIED in Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH), as reported in a local daily newspaper.
I request that in these trying times when tensions are running high, media should refrain from reporting, without doubly verifying facts.
