No compromise at all & strong steps will be taken against anyone involved in syndicate: Pijush Hazarika
Feb. 9: “Our government has taken a strong step against those who are involved in the syndicate network. We will not compromise and exhibit zero tolerance towards those who are really found to be involved in the syndicate.” This was stated by Pijush Hazarika, Minister for Water Resources; Parliamentary Affairs; Information, Public Relations; Printing & Stationery while talking to the media on the sidelines of a meeting held in the office of district BJP, Silchar on Wednesday.
When asked about some of the big names of the ruling party involved in the syndicate including close associates of one of his cabinet colleague, Minister Pijush Hazarika said, “Action will definitely be taken against those whose names will feature for being involved in the syndicate.” He was, however, quick to add, “Any person may be alleged to be involved in the syndicate. And we cannot act in this manner. But if there is proof, if there is definite evidence against anyone, then definitely proper action will be taken as per law.”
It needs mention here that after Cachar Police under the leadership of SP Ramandeep Kaur launched an allout attack on the syndicate network, many arrests were made. In one such incident on Tuesday, a right wing leader Amalendu Das was arrested by Cachar Police on charges of being a part of the syndicate and alleged of collecting passing tax from the vehicles. He, however, made some explosive statements when police were about to take him for mandatory medical check up and said, “I am being framed by the duo of timber syndicate operated by Bhusan Paul & Sashanka Paul, who are too close to Forest Minister Parimal Suklabaidya.”
