Way2barak, June 14 : Over 600 cadets from NCC Silchar Headquarters practiced Surya Namaskar , pranayama, asana and Dhyana at a workshop conducted by Silchar Niramaya yoga sansthan. Commanding Officer Saurabh Chamoli, Major N. Hauching, Subedar Major Dan Bahadur Buddha, and other officers also participated. The program was held on Friday, June 14, at the Pailapool, Navodaya Vidyalaya campus, as part of the upcoming International Yoga Day. The event was managed by the 3-Assam NCC Battalion, Silchar.

Commanding Officer Saurabh Chamoli stated that today’s youth often suffer from various mental stresses. Though they may appear physically strong, they face different problems due to a lack of mental peace. Regular practice of yoga can help reduce such stress in young people. This practice is a key alternative for the well-being of both their body and mind. He expressed hope that Niramay’s workshop would benefit the cadets.

Furthermore, Saurabh mentioned that the NCC Silchar Group, in collaboration with Niramaya, would undertake various yoga-related programs in the future as well. At the end of the workshop, NCC officers felicitated Niramaya’s Director Shatakshi Bhattacharjee and Chief Coordinator Rahul Chakraborty.

In turn, Niramaya honored the NCC 3 Assam Battalion with a memento and certificate for their significant role in promoting yoga education. It’s worth noting that Niramaya’s “Yoga Chetana Mahotsav” has been underway since March 8 this year, with a resolution to organize over a hundred programs in observance of the 11th International Yoga Day. The Utsav will conclude on June 21, and this NCC workshop was part of it.
