New SOP not issued by govt, earlier restrictions to prevail in Cachar: DC
July 14: As no new SOP has been declared by the state government, the earlier restrictions shall prevail in Cachar district. Shops and business establishments will be closed at 1 PM. There shall be a complete ban on movement of individuals and vehicular traffic except essential services from 2 pm to 5 am in Cachar District. As such, people were urged not to fall prey to rumours. This was stated by DC Cachar on Wednesday morning.
Earlier, on 10 July, Chief Minister, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma during a press meet held at Assam Administrative Staff College, Khanpara stated that apart from 7 districts under containment zone, curfew to be relaxed in other districts of Assam from 14 July. He said that from Wednesday, the shops and business establishments will be kept open till 3 PM and curfew will be imposed from 4 PM. However, as new SOP was not issued by the state government till Wednesday afternoon, so that means that the earlier restrictions shall prevail until further orders are issued.
