New COVID Screening Centre to come up at T T College, Silchar from 6 August
August 5: The Cachar district health department has stepped up Rapid Antigen Test (RAT). On Tuesday, Deputy Commissioner, Cachar Keerthi Jalli appealed to the people of the district to come individually and voluntarily and get tested for COVID-19. “Our mobile teams are going around all the prominent places and markets in the district from Baskandi to Udharbond and all other places. You please come and get yourself tested. You will get to know the result within a span of 15 minutes through the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT),” said Jalli.
The same was reiterated on Wednesday by Suman Choudhury, District Media Expert. He said that the health department has now increased the number of rapid tests. Apart from the Urban Screening Centre at Trunk Road, another Covid Screening Centre will now be started at Teachers’ Training College (TT College), Hailakandi Road, Silchar. The new screening centre will start functioning from Thursday. Anyone can go there for doing Rapid Antigen Test (RAT). The centre will remain open from 11 AM to 3 PM. The results of Rapid Test will be declared within 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, a total of 90 persons were detected COVID-19 positive in Cachar on till Wednesday evening. Suman Choudhury further informed that a new Covid Care Centre has come up at Sarla Birla School from Tuesday.
