Neighbour brutally hackles Silchar PWD employee with a matchetপ্রতিবেশীর দায়ের কোপে গুরুতর জখম শিলচরের পূর্তকর্মী
June 24: In a shocking incident, a PWD (Roads) employee of Silchar was brutally attacked with a sharp weapon on Thursday afternoon, following which he was admitted in South City Hospital where a team of doctors were reported to perform a critical operation. An FIR in this regard was also registered at Silchar Sadar Police Station.
The Silchar PWD (Roads) employee identified as Partha Mazumder is a resident of Madan Mohan Park Lane near Rangirkhari Petrol Pump, Silchar. As per the FIR lodged by his wife Joyeeta Deb, an employee of Assam University, Silchar, Partha Mazumder on Thursday had employed a labourer for mending the bamboo fencing near his gate which falls within their boundary. While speaking to way2barak, Joyeeta Deb said, “We have a dispute with our neighbour regarding the boundary for which we have even lodged a formal complaint with Silchar Municipal Board. However, today my husband was mending some bamboo poles within our boundary.”
The FIR further stated that at around 3 PM, their neighbour, Kajal Dey suddenly rushed out of his house and came near their gate and started to hurl filthy abuses at Partha Mazumder. His wife Joyeeta Deb further alleged that the neighbour suddenly took out a matchet (sharp weapon) and attacked her husband with the “intend to kill him.” As a result, Mr Partha sustained grave injury on his right hand, forehead and other parts of his body.
Immediately, the brother of Partha rushed outside and raised a hue and cry to which others of the locality also came out. It was alleged that, in the meantime, the accused neighbour absconded. Partha Mazumder was immediately rushed at a private hospital where the doctors were reported to perform a critical surgery. Till the filing of this report, no arrests were made.
