NEET-PG candidates whose exam was postponed to join COVID workforce: Centre to states
May 3: In the wake of the surge in Covid-19 cases throughout the country, the NEET-PG 2021 examination was postponed and it was decided the same won’t be held before 31 August, 2021. However, now, the Union government has planned to use these NEET-PG aspirant doctors to render service in the fight against the deadly coronavirus.
The Centre has written to all States and Union Territories to “make all efforts” to reach out to prospective NEET-PG candidates and persuade them to join the COVID-19 workforce. In a written directive to the States and the Union territories, the Centre wrote, “The service of these MBBS doctors can be utilised in the management of COVID-19.”
