Necessary action to reconstruct existing Tourist Lodge, Silchar will be initiated soon: Tourism Minister

way2barak, Dec.20: During the ongoing session of Assam Legislative Assembly, Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakrabarty posed two unstarred questions, the reply for which were given by the Minister of Tourism, Jayanta Malla Baruah on Tuesday.

The questions asked by MLA Dipayan Chakraborty are:

1. The Government Tourist Lodge near Barak Bar, Park Road Silchar is now in devasted condition. Is there any plan of the Government to reconstruct the same, as this will surely become a high potential source to earn revenue by the Government of Assam ?
2. Anowa Beel, Ramnagar- Silchar is a big beel which is situated at entry point of Silchar. There are high scope to earn the revenue by the Government, if it can be developed into a Tourist place. Whether there is any plan to develop the same as a place of attraction for the Tourist ?

While responding to the queries, Minister of Tourism, Jayanta Malla Baruah on Tuesday stated that “Necessary action to reconstruct the existing Tourist Lodge, Silchar will be initiated soon.” As regards the Anowa Beel, the Minister replied, “The development of Anowa Beel, Ramnagar- Silchar will depend upon the availability of requisite funds.”
