Mutilated dead body of a youth recovered in railway track

July 6: A dead body was recovered in the early hours of Saturday morning lying on the railway track in a mutilated condition.near Ashimganj Rail station of Patharkandi Police Station in Karimganj district. The deceased was later on identified by the locals as Abu Bakkar (28) who is the son of Late Jalal Uddin. He was a resident of a nearby village, named, Kartiktilla.

Railway police on reaching the spot recovered the parts of the dead body lying in and around the railway track and sent the body to Karimganj Civil hospital for post Mortem. Locals are of the opinion that the man was probably run over by a goods train early in the morning. However, a few are also doubting that Abu Bakkar might have been murdered.

However, investigation by the police is on to ascertain the real cause of the death. Meanwhile, the dead body was handed over to his family members after post-mortem for performing the last rites.
