Multiple Containment Zones declared in many parts of Cachar on Monday
July 6: In view of detection of many COVID-19 patients on Monday, District Magistrate Keerthi Jalli declared containment zones in the area surrounding their houses. Rudra Narayan Gupta, Managing Director of Green Heals Hospital tested positive on Monday. As a result, to contain the further spread of the virus, the area surrounding the House of Rudra Narayan Gupta, “Supriti” at Chourangi, Ambicapatty (within Ramanuj Gupta Junior College campus) was declared as a containment zone and it was immediately sealed. Further, the area inside the following geographical boundaries was also sealed:
- North: PWD Road
- South: Hitesh Biswas Lane
- East: House of Pathak Banik
- West: Ramanuj Gupta Jr College
Eminent Gynecologist Dr. Monika Deb also tested COVID-19 positive on Monday. In order to contain the further spread of the virus, the area surrounding the House of Monika Deb, House No.53, Krishna Charan Road, West Rangirkhari, Silchar was declared as a containment zone and it was immediately sealed. Further, the area inside the following geographical boundaries was also sealed:
- North: Krishna Charan Lane
- South: Janata Lane
- East: House of Sudip Deb
- West: House of Monish Podder
Mamoni Nunia, a 19-years old girl was also infected with coronavirus. As such, to contain the further spread of the virus, the area surrounding her rented house at Ghungoor, Silchar (near Post Office, Ghungoor) was declared as a containment zone and it was immediately sealed. Further, the area inside the following geographical boundaries was also sealed:
- North: Residential
- South: Dental College
- East: Nursery
- West: Land Kalwar
A 51-years old female, Sabita Karmakar also tested positive. Therefore, to contain the further spread of the virus, the area surrounding her house at South City Lane, Meherpur, Silchar (Rented house of Raja Chakraborty) was declared as a containment zone and it was immediately sealed. Further, the area inside the following geographical boundaries was also sealed:
- North: Pranay Kanti Choudhury
- South: House of Shanti Malakar
- East: Building of Dr. P.C. Sharma
- West: House of Arun Malakar
Another person, 56-years-old Poonam Kumari also got infected with coronavirus. Her house at Quarter No. Type II/I, K.V. Kumbhirgram, Cachar was declared as a containment zone and it was immediately sealed in order to to contain the further spread of the virus. Further, the area inside the following geographical boundaries was also sealed:
- North: Bungalow of Capt. Divya, Asstt. garrison Engineer
- South: K.V. Type II, Old quarter Block
- East: Bungalow of Mr. Bhankhade, Principal K.V. Kumbhirgram.
- West: K.V. Road
Tilak Das, a 22-years-old youth was tested positive. In order to contain the further spread of the virus, the area surrounding his house at Ashram Road (near Sunlight Hospital) Tapaban Nagar, Ambikapur Part VIII, Silchar, Cachar was declared as a containment zone and it was immediately sealed in order to to contain the further spread of the virus. Further, the area inside the following geographical boundaries was also sealed:
- North: Mahkmed Ali Lane
- South: Rangirkhari
- East: House of Motilal Das
- West: House of Hitlal Das
A 27-years-old Suparna Barai became COVID-19 positive. As such, to contain the further spread of the virus, the area surrounding her rented her rented house of Arup nath at Panchgori Road, Silchar, Cachar (near Medinova Hospital) was declared as a containment zone and it was immediately sealed in order to to contain the further spread of the virus. Further, the area inside the following geographical boundaries was also sealed:
- North: House of Kabir Barbhuiya
- South: Amiya Roy
- East: Nityananda Ghose
- West: Panchgori Road
Two staff of Green Heals Nursing Home, Babita Singha (23) and L. Sonia Chanu (25) were tested positive. Therefore, to contain the further spread of the virus, the area surrounding their house at Green heals Extension, Unit 1 hostel, Beltola, Meherpur, Silchar was declared as a containment zone and it was immediately sealed in order to to contain the further spread of the virus. Further, the area inside the following geographical boundaries was also sealed:
- South: Vacant Land
- East: House of Pallav Paul
- West: Vacant Land
To implement the above instructions, following restrictions were also imposed in the geographical areas mentioned against each person:
- Clear entry and exit points are to be established.
- No unauthorised entry and exit of the residents in the contained area will be allowed.
- Vehicular movement is to be strictly prohibited.
- No movement is to be allowed except for medical emergencies, essential goods and services.
- No unchecked influx of population is to be allowed
- People transiting are to be recorded and followed through IDSP.
- Stricter enforcement of all statutory directions regarding social distancing.
District Magistrate Keerthi Jalli stated that the orders are issued under the Regulations “The Assam COVID-19 Regulations, 2020” and shall be effective from 1600 hours of 06 July, 2020 until further orders.
