DC Cachar reviews maternal & child death cases of Cachar district

way2barak, Oct.30: Deputy Commissioner, Cachar Rohan Kr. Jha on Saturday reviewed the maternal & child death cases of Cachar district in presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Health), Asutosh Deka, Joint Director of Health Services, Dr. Ashutosh Barman, Addl. CM &HO (FW), Superintendent. SM Dev Civil Hospital, District Nodal Officers & Addl. Nodal Officers (MDR & CDR), Facility Nodal Officers of SMCH, BPHC in-charges including Silchar Urban, DPMU, BPMU, ANM & ASHA workers.

Cause of deaths and gaps in services in terms of maternal deaths & child deaths were reviewed and plan of action to correct those avoidable gaps at facility level and community level were discussed. The Deputy Commissioner, Cachar directed the health fraternity including SMCH team to work more vigorously to pluck the gaps and put best possible efforts to reduce the deaths.

ASHA , ANM & Block level team were directed to strengthen the early identification and referral mechanism. Simultaneously, SMCH, SM Dev Civil Hospital & other delivery points were directed to strengthen the quality of care at facility level. Discussion on the need to strengthen the services of 108 was also held as well as the need for timely response in addressing emergencies.
