MP Dr Rajdeep Roy unveils Sardar Patel’s bust at SMCH

May 1: MP Silchar, Dr Rajdeep Roy on Saturday unveiled the bust of Sardar Ballabh Bhai Patel at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). The bust was installed at the Boys Hostel of SMCH. Present during the occasion were the Principal of the college, students of the Boys Hostel along with some of the doctors.

Taking to his twitter handle, Dr Rajdeep Roy wrote, “The main task before India today is to consolidate herself into a well-knit and united power” #SardarPatel ji’s words are as significant today as they were in 1947. We need to stand united as #IndiaFightsCOVID19 Sardar Patel Ji’s bust installed at #SMCH Boys hostel today.”

Sardar Vallabhbhai Jhaverbhai Patel, popularly known as Sardar Patel, was an Indian statesman. He served as the first Deputy Prime Minister of India.  Leader of tall stature, he played a pivotal role amalgamation of the princely states in the Indian Union after independence. He is called as the “Iron Man of India.”
