BJP dist General Secretary Kanad Purkayastha tests positive

Sept. 9: Kanad Purkayastha, District General Secretary of Cachar BJP and the son of the former Union Minister Kabindra Purkayastha was tested positive on Wednesday. In a social media post on Wednesday afternoon, Kanad Purkayastha wrote, “Yesterday I went for swab test out of my own. I got the report today and I tested positive. As I am asymptomatic, I had applied for home isolation, which was granted by them.”

Mr. Purkayastha further wrote, “I request all those who have come in contact with me in the last 3 to 4 days, to do COVID test.” His condition was learnt to be stable.
