29 tests +ve in Cachar on Thursday; 41 active patients at SMCH
Oct. 29: On Thursday, a total of 29 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 1477 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 28 persons were found positive, whereas out of 229 RTPCR tests, 01 person was detected positive.
In his daily briefing, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Thursday said that in the last 24 hours, 192 persons were screened at SMCH. Throat swab of another 432 persons were collected. 411 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, out of which, 07 of them tested positive. Further, 452 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done at SMCH in the last 24 hours, out of which, 09 were found positive.
Apart from this, 05 new patients of COVID-19 were admitted at SMCH in the last 24 hours and 05 were discharged. At present, there are 41 active patients at SMCH, out of which, 21 are admitted in ICU and no patients are in ventilation. Also, no patients are now under oxygen support. Further, 247 persons have donated plasma which was administered upon 465 patients.
Dr. Gupta further informed that in the last 24 hours, none have died due to COVID-19 at SMCH. As of now, there were 172 COVID related deaths in SMCH. Of the 172 deaths, 63 of them were certified by the State Death Audit Board as COVID-19 confirmed deaths.
