Cabinet meeting at Silchar on 31 May; Ministers to arrive from 28 May

May 10:  Since the taking over of the reigns of administration by Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma-led government, a trend has been set to hold cabinet meetings outside Dispur. Till now, 3 such cabinet meetings were held outside Dispur. During the last cabinet meeting held in Guwahati on 3 May, 2022, it was decided that the next cabinet meeting outside the state capital will be held in Silchar on 31 May, 2022.

It is in this connection that a preparatory meeting District Development Committee was held in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Cachar on Tuesday. The said meeting was chaired by District Development Commissioner Rajib Roy. A review of the works done by every department was thoroughly discussed. DDC Rajib Roy informed that the administration is marching ahead with their preparations for the cabinet meeting.

DDC Roy further informed that the cabinet ministers will start arriving in Silchar from 28 May onwards. The ministers will undertake a tour of the valley. They will take stock of the works done at different Development Blocks. Apart from this, the ministers will also inspect their respective departmental offices located here.

It needs mention here that the Cabinet Meeting on 31 May, 2022 will be held in the newly constructed conference hall which is situated at the third floor of the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Cachar. Further, in lieu of the oncoming cabinet, preparations are galore! District Administration Cachar has taken keen interest in beautification of the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Cachar, the venue of the Cabinet Meeting.
