Mastermind of Guwahati toy blast nabbed by police

December 23: On last month, a little girl was injured in Guwahati in a mysterious incident of toy blast. The mysterious blast occurred at Manipuri Basti area of Guwahati on 13 November. A mother and daughter was injured in the blast. The injury occurred when the toy car she was playing with mysteriously exploded all of a sudden. The 11 year old girl Divneshi and her mother Thokchom Bembem Devi (38) sustained injury. The minor girl sustained severe injuries on her right hand and the right-side of her face. Both of them were admitted at the Arya Hospital.

While investigating the incident, Guwahati Police achieved a major success. A man named Binod Boro (30) was arrested by the police in this connection. Binod Boro is a resident of Naramari village, Bagdoba in Baska. Sources revealed that the accused had “personal grudges” against the maternal uncle of Divneshi and “manufactured” the toy car “taking help from the internet”. His intention was ‘to take revenge.’ The accused Binod Boro is learnt to have given the “bomb-laden toy car” to Divneshi. Investigation is still on for further details.

11-year-old T S Divneshi Devi is a Class IV student of the Nichols Higher Secondary School. The plastic, steel wire pieces collected during her surgery were then sent to the state forensic laboratory for examination.
