Massive success for N.F. Railway using CEIR Portal, Tracing over 500 Phones

way2barak, 15 April: The Northeast Frontier Railway has made remarkable strides in tracing and recovering lost mobile phones with the help of the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal. Between April 20, 2024 and April 7, 2025, proactive efforts have led to significant results in enhancing passenger safety and recovering valuable assets. During this period, 528 mobile phones were successfully traced. This initiative highlights the growing role of technology in ensuring security and delivering prompt public service.

During this period, 528 mobile phones were successfully traced. Of these, 109 devices were recovered through coordinated efforts by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and relevant authorities. In addition to recovery, 21 individuals involved in the theft or illegal possession of mobile phones were arrested. These arrests mark a crucial step in deterring mobile-related crimes and disrupting unlawful resale networks. Most importantly, the recovered mobile phones were returned to their rightful owners, reflecting the system’s effectiveness and the commitment of N.F. Railway to public service.

The N.F. Railway encourages passengers to report any lost or stolen mobile phones through Rail Madad. The RPF remains dedicated to protecting passenger interests and ensuring secure travel experiences.
