3 more COVID-19 positive cases in Assam, total rises to 16; all joined Nizamuddin Markaz

April 2: it seems to be now never ending positive cases in Assam. State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma declared in his twitter handle at 12.15 AM on 2 April that another 3 persons in the state were also tested coronavirus positive. He wrote, “Alert ~ 3 more #COVID19 positive cases in Goalpara, Assam, taking the total to 16. These three new cases are also of those who joined #TablighiJamaat congregation at #NizamuddinMarkaz.”

After Jorhat, now the 3 positive cases were reported from Goalpara district in Assam. These 3 detected cases also has a history of being in Nizamuddin Markaz. Around 3 hours ago, 8 positive cases were reported. The samples of these 8 were tested at Jorhat Medical College. The 1st case from Badarpur (in Karimganj district) was reported on Tuesday who is admitted at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH).

Curiously all 16 detected positive in Assam were connected to Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi. The positive cases are expected to rise by tomorrow morning. Blatantly violating the orders of lockdown thousands went on with an Islamic religious congregation at Nizamuddin in Delhi which later on became infested with coronavirus. Now, these persons hiding their travel history were been in the state thereby creating an atmosphere of panic for the inhabitants of the state. Sources revealed that as many as 117 persons who went to Nizamuddin are still hiding, which may invite real trouble for the state. Their mobile phones are also switched off. The govt has appealed to voluntary call 104 for COVID-19 related issues.
