Man booked by Karimganj police on allegation of posting ‘communal & hate message’

April 21: On a day when an FIR was lodged with Dwarbond Police Investigation Centre in Cachar against one Dilwor Laskar of Silchar for allegedly posting “vulgar and objectionable comments against Hindu Gods & Gddesses, another FIR was lodged by Snehal Chakraborty, Bajrangdal Dakhin Cachar District President and Vice President of ABVP GCC Unit.

The said FIR was lodged against one Islam Uddin for alleged ‘hate speech’ made by him against Hindu monks and derogatory remarks about Hindu religion. Expressing his views Snehal Chakraborty said, “Islam Uddin is spreading negative and inhumane thoughts of killing Hindu monks. His post also states that Hindu girls should be married and converted to Islam. It is in this light that we have filed a complaint and demand immediate arrest of the person.”

Snehal Chakraborty also mentioned that such kind of statement in Facebook wall is intended to excite a religious community against other. “The man is taking pride of the killing of Hindu monks in Maharashtra and appeals to the Muslims of Assam to take similar steps here also”, alleged Snehal. The screenshot of the Facebook post has also been given to the police.

Meanwhile, while replying to a tweet of Snehal Chakraborty, Karimganj Police tweeted that “A case has been registered and the alleged accused has been booked.”
