Omicron case tally in India goes upto 1,700

Jan. 3: The Omicron case tally in India has risen to 1,700. Maharashtra has reported 510 cases so far while Delhi has reported 351 patients. 639 Omicron patients in the country has also recovered. India reported 33,750 new Covid cases and 123 deaths over the last 24 hours.

The Centre further notified that Govt officers/ staff residing in Covid containment zones exempted from coming to office till containment zones are de-notified. Physical attendance of govt servants restricted to 50% and biometric attendance was discontinued. Physical attendance of govt servants below level of under secretary restricted to 50 per cent, remaining to work from home.

Meanwhile, over 40 lakh children between 15-18 age group received their first dose of vaccine on the 1st day of vaccination drive for children, till 8 PM, stated Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya.
