Mama we need online exam, students fondly request CM Himanta Biswa Sarma

Jan. 21: He is fondly addressed to as “Mama” (maternal Uncle) by the youths in Assam. On his arrival at Silchar, the same scenario was noticed. During his visit to Assam University, students at the top of their voice said, “Mama… we need bullet.” Mama too with his signature smile said, “In the next budget though not bullet but we will try to give something like bullet. Exactly bullet may not come, but something will be there.”

During the day, the Chief Minister went to meet ex-BJP Cachar District President Kiriti Purkayastha at his residence in Lane No. 12, Link Road. While he was entering the house of Kiriti Purkaystha on foot, a few students met him and felicitated him with a traditional ‘gamosha.’ Just then, one of the students said, “Mama, we need online exam.” To this Himanta Mama replied, “Online? You will spoil your life. There is no Covid now. You shall have to appear in offline exam.”
