Majuli Bye-election: 203 Polling Stations to be equipped with Webcasting
March 3: The Bye-Election in 99-Majuli (ST) to the Assam Legislative Assembly is scheduled to be held on March 7, 2022. With just a week away for the poll day in 99-Majuli (ST) Assembly Constituency, arrangements are in full swing. As directed by the Election Commission of India (ECI), Webcasting will be done in all the polling stations of the Constituency.
The Chief Electoral Officer, Assam, Nitin Khade has made arrangements for Webcasting to be carried out at all 203 polling stations in Majuli. This is done so as to ensure a free, fair and safe Bye-Election to the Assam Legislative Assembly, 2022. The poll proceedings will be monitored live by ECI, CEO Assam as well as the District Election Officer and other concerned officials on duty. Half section of the Central Armed Police Forces will be deployed at each Polling Station to ensure full proof security on poll day. The voting will start at 7.00 a.m. and end at 5.00 p.m.
Moreover, the Election Commission of India has declared the Poll Day (7 March,2022) as Dry Day in the aforementioned constituency.
