Maharashtra: 6000 cases in a day, 1 week lockdown in Amravati; Night curfew in Pune

Feb. 21: After Maharashtra reported over 6000 fresh COVID-19 cases on Saturday, the state government announced one-week total lockdown from Monday in Amravati district, excluding the city of Achalpur. Out of the 6000 new cases, about 27 percent were recorded within Mumbai and Amravati civic limits. It was reported that during the complete lockdown in Amravati, only essential services will be allowed in the district.

Meanwhile, night curfew was once again announced from 11 PM to 6 AM in Pune. All educational institutions were also shut down until 28 February. Further, hotels, restaurants and bars will also have to shut at 11 PM.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Saturday sealed 1305buildings in Mumbai after 2749cases of COVID-19 were were reported in the city. A total of 71,838 households are residing in these sealed buildings.
