Lovlina Borgohain enters CWG 2022 quarters with 5-0 win over New Zealand’s Nicholson

July 30: It was indeed a golden moment for India at Commonwealth Games 2022. Mirabai Chanu has clinched the 1st Gold for India with a massive lead in weightlifting in 49kg category and creating a new games record. Following this, India’s Olympic bronze medal-winning boxer Lovlina Borgohain entered the women’s 66kg-70kg (light middleweight) category quarter-finals after defeating New Zealand’s Ariane Nicholson in the round of 16. Lovlina won the bout by points (5-0) after three rounds. Lovlina will face Welsh boxer Rosie Eccles in the quarter-final.
