Lockdown imposed in 11 wards of Guwahati, click for details

June 23: The large scale spread of COVID-19 affected cases among the general public of certain areas of Guwahati City  has posed as a major threat to public health, hygiene and safety of the general population. It is in this backdrop that the Chairman of the State Executive Committee of Assam State Disaster Management Authority, in exercise of the powers, conferred under Section 22(2)(h) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, issued directives to Commissioner of Police, City and District Magistrate, Kamrup Metropolitan District to enforce total lockdown in the areas given below. This order shall come into force with effect from 9 PM  of 23 June, 2020 and shall remain in force until further orders.

1. Ward No.2 of Guwahati Municipal Corporation: Ferry Ghat Colony No. 3, 4, 5, & 6; New Railway Colony, Institute Colony, Triangular Colony; LOCO Colony; B.B.C. Colony; Part of Sadilapur; Garpandu, Jaymati Nagar.
2. Ward No. 3:  Rest Camp Colony; Water Works Railway Colony; Temple Ghat Colony; Maligaon Baripara area; Garpandu area; Adabari; Adabari Rly Colony, Green Park Colony; Anandanagar; Maligaon area
3. Ward No. 4: Kamakhya Temple; Kamakhya Colony Area; Pandu Nath Basti and Kalipur Area and rest of Maligaon Area.
4. Ward No.5: Maligaon Rly Colony (East and West); Gotanagar Rly Colony (West, Central and East), Gosala Rly Colony, Durgasarobar and Santipur, Bhutnath
5. Ward No.6 : Dhirenpara; Ganeshpara; Manpara; Datalpara; Kotahbari; Gorchuk and Jyotikuchi (Part)
6. Ward No. 7: Gotanagar (Part), Gotanagar NC, Maligaon NC, Fatasil N Durgasarobar, Fatasil, Dhirenpara Hill Side
7. Ward No. 8: Kumarpara, Machkhowa, Athgaon (Part), Bharalumukh
8. Ward No. 9: Chatribari, Krishna Nagar, Tokobari, Fancybazar, Athgaon (Part)
9. Ward No. 10 (Part): Panbazar, Fancybazar (Part), Solapara 10.
10. Ward No.15: Bishnupur, Natunbasti, Bimalanagar, Mahendra Nagar, Sankarpur, Fatasil (Part)
11. Ward No.16: Bhaskar Nagar, Barsapara, Dhirenpara(Part), Anandanagar, Rongpathar

As per the order, complete lockdown in these 11 wards of Guwahati will be implemented from 9 PM of 23 June, 2020.
