Leo Clubs of Zone III cleans immersion ghats & streets

Nov. 1: Every year after Durga Puja and Bijoya Dashami, the Idol immersion ghats and streets are filled with garbage, plastic bottles, bags etc. Keeping this in mind once again, Leo Club of Silchar Central & Leo Club of Silchar Vision initiated their permanent project “Cleanliness Drive”.

This year the Leo’s received the warm collaboration from the clubs of Zone III, Leo Club of Silchar Centurion & Leo Club of Silchar Greater under the guidance of their ZC, Leo Dhriti Sundar Paul & RC, Leo Tamal Chakraborty.

The immersion ghat near Annapurna Mandir as well as the streets nearby were cleaned by the members. They also sprayed disinfectants on the streets and ghats in order to sanitize the entire area. Further, the Leo’s also immersed few idols that were left abandoned near the river side. The Leos were planning to increase such Fellowship Projects, that has already created a great bond of friendship between all the clubs and their members.
