Leo Club of Silchar streams live session on ‘World Breastfeeding Week’

Aug. 9: As the pandemic hit the entire globe, so did it create hurdles in the path of the working of one of the most active club’s, ‘Leo Club of Silchar’ of this valley and left it inactive in the past few months. But then, fighting all odds, the members of Leo Club of Silchar, popularly known as the ‘Silchar Leos’ are back to its form again.

Led by the dynamic Leo and a renowned dentist of the valley , Leo Lion Dr Paramita Paul, the club has made a come back with it’s very active and sincere old and new members to serve the society in every possible way.  They have started their new journey by organising an online awareness talk show on a most germane and relevant topic, “Mental Health of Students Amidst This Pandemic”. The panelists were Psychiatrist, Dr. Himabrata Das and Jennifer Mazumder, Psychology student. It was indeed a very fruitful discussion session that would definitely help all the students over come this difficult situation.

On 6 August, a new session of their year long series was streamed live from their Facebook page, Leo club of Silchar on the on going ‘World Breastfeeding Week’. Renowned Pediatrician Dr. Priyanka Deb addressed the session and narrated the importance of breastfeeding and also answered a lot of questions posed by new mothers. Dr Paramita Paul, also added how breastfeeding is directly connected to the oral growth of a baby. Dr. Priyanka highlighted on the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and the precautions to be taken. Overall, it was a very effective session. The live session was compered by Leo Lion Anupriya Deb, Past President and senior member of the club.
