Leo Club of Silchar distribute grocery items among 62 distressed families at Chatla

April 29: The outbreak of coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent nationwide lockdown had a great impact on the economy. The daily wage workers, small vendors, private employees are leading their lives from hand to mouth. To help such type of people in distress, Leo Club of Silchar came forward and distributed grocery items among the people in distressed.

The Leo Club of Silchar distributed grocery items among 62 families at Chatla area of Cachar. They gave rice 3kg, dal 0.5 kg, potato 1kg, onion 0.5 kg, soyabean 200 gm, mustard oil 200 ml and salt 1 packet. They also gave soap to each one of them to wash their hands regularly.

Speaking to way2barak, Anupriya Deb said, “We distributed the food stuff to 62 families by keeping in mind the dignity of the beneficiaries. In some places, where we could, we dropped the ration in front of their doors and to some we handed the ration. It was our privilege that we could be of some help to the needy public in this hour of crisis.”
