Leo Central & Thousand Sayantans’ interacts online with Dr. RP Gopal on World Heart Day

Sept. 29: Leo Club of Silchar Central in association with Thousand Sayantans’ celebrated World Heart Day in a unique way. They organised an online interactive session with eminent cardiologist, Dr. Rakesh P Gopal on Tuesday.

One year ago, a 25 years old youth, Sayantan lost his life due to lack of health facilities in Silchar. Since then, his friends formed ‘Thousand Sayantans’ and have been instrumental as a pressure group demanding proper health facilities in Silchar Medical college & Hospital (SMCH). This young band of dedicated friends of Sayantan were instrumental of getting the services of Dr. Gopal at SMCH.

Doctor Rakesh P Gopal is an eminent cardiologist associated with Apollo Chennai who has been appointed by Govt of Assam at SMCH after collective efforts by Thousand Sayantans’. During the online interactive session, Dr. Gopal spoke about various issues related to heart. The moderator for the session were Sauvik Mazumder Kashyap from Leo Club of Silchar Central and Rohit Choudhury from Thousand Sayantans’. The viewers flooded the session with a plethora of questions.
