Neurosurgeon Dr. Sambuddha Dhar conferred Gaurav Shri Samman 2023

Way2Barak, February 6 : In a proud moment for Silchar and Barak Valley, acclaimed neurosurgeon Dr. Sambuddha Dhar has been conferred the “Gaurav Shri Samman 2023” for his outstanding service in the field of medicine.

Maharashtra governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari presented the award at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai on Friday. The Samman ceremony was organised by a social service organisation Maitry Peace Foundation. A total of 40 personalities from various fields, including renowned music composer Anu Malik and Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav, were conferred the award.

Talking to Media on Monday, Dr. Sambuddha Dhar said he was honoured to be conferred the prestigious award. “I am really very happy on getting the award. This means a lot,” Dr. Dhar said. He added that his vision / goal is to work actively to provide quality medical treatment facilities to patients at SMCH and uplift the overall healthcare scenario at the hospital.

A resident of Silchar Dr. Sambuddha Dhar, completed his MBBS degree from Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Pondicherry, MS – General Surgery from JIPMER and MCh – Neurosurgery from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He joined Silchar Medical College and Hospital in October, 2021. He has performed 166 operations till date.

Dr. Dhar had in December last year started a page on social media to help patients register their booking with him easily without having to stand in long queues to get booking tokens. This initiative by the doctor received warm reactions from a large section of citizens here.
