Jookto to organise panel discussion on ‘Youth, Barak & 2019’ on 31 December

December 27: In a unique endeavour, Jookto, a socio-cultural organisation will be organising a panel discussion entitled “Youth, Barak & 2019” on 31 December, 2018 at Silchar, Assam at 10.30 in the morning. The discussion being organised on the last day of the year will focus on the aspirations of the youth in Barak Valley and focus on some of the key areas that will define the future- Education, Skills & Entrepreneurship, Sports and Evolution of the region into an economic and social hub. The venue of the event is Ellora Heritage Assembly, Ellora Complex, Silchar.

Speaking to way2barak, Subimal Bhattacharjee, Director of Jookto said, “The prime focus of the panel discussion will be to try and deliberate on how the youth of the region can be oriented towards Act East Policy and other avenues to look at at a future where they can contribute towards the development of the region.” Mr. Bhattacharjee further appealed to the youth of the valley to participate in this discussion so that something concrete comes out of it which would go a long way for the bright future of this valley.

Dwelling on this event, Mr. Bhattacharjee elaborated that, “event is an effort by Jookto to touch base on an important avenue for the Barak Valley region. It is to showcase the hidden potential of youths from Barak Valley of Assam and explore how these youth can be better oriented to grab the opportunities for an emerging Northeast India.” This event is supported by Northeast India Company and web portal way2barak is the associate media partner. The speakers for the event are:

  • Dr. Salim Barbhuiya, Lecturer, School of Civil Engineering, University of Leeds, UK.
  • Mr. Santanu Sutradhar, Entrepreneur and Director, Disha Enterprise
  • Mr. Sayan Biswas, Senior Sub Editor, Dainik Jugashanka
  • Mr. Subimal Bhattacharjee, Founder Director, Jookto
  • Mr. Sudarshan Gupta, Assistant Professor as Moderator.

It needs mention here that Jookto is a social-cultural organisation promoted by well-known Cyber expert and the Ex- Country Head of General Dynamics Mr. Subimal Bhattacharjee and his wife Dr. Joyeeta Bhattacharjee. The event is another unique effort of Jookto to promote the hidden gems from Barak Valley in Assam.
