Job Mela at ITI Srikona attracts thousand of job seekers
February 29: A ‘Job Mela’ was organised at ITI Srikona by Directorate of Employment and craftsman training Assam in association with national career service. MLA Borkhola Kishore Nath graced the occasion as a guest of honour whereas Deputy Commissioner Cachar, Barnali Sharma was invited as the chief guest.
While addressing the gathering, MLA Borkhola Kishore Nath mentioned that he is very happy as the Directorate of Employment has organized Job Mela for the first time in Barak Valley. He also mentioned that the state government is very active and sincere and introduced new policies for job seekers.
While delivering her speech, Deputy Commissioner Barnali Sarma said, “Owing to lack of employment opportunities and possibilities, our children, after acquiring higher education chose to move out of the region in search of jobs. There are also less scope for self employment. However, with such an endeavour of the state government, both the recruiters and job seekers shall have their objectives fulfilled.” She appealed to the recruiters to give the candidates a launching pad so that the youth can give a proper shape to their career.
Deputy Director of Labour & Employment delivered the vote of thanks wherein he appreciated the employers for participating and for their cooperation. He also advised the job seekers to maintain discipline during selection process. He specially expressed his deep pleasure to the Director of Employment for organising Job Mela for the first time in Barak Valley.
Companies like Reliance Jio Infocom Limited, Mild Job Manpower Consultancy, Barak Valley Cement Limited, Jain Udyog, Big Bazaar, C.G Foods, Gautam Construction Limited, ABCL Infrastructure Private Limited, SBI Life Insurance, Instacart Services Private Limited (Flipcart) and M/S Rudra Casting participated in the Job Mela. A total of 1070 job seekers from various parts of the valley registered their name in the job mela.
