JNU alumna Shruti Sharma, a student of history tops UPSC Civil Services
May 30: Inspite of several criticism raised against Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), yet one of its alumna, Shruti Sharma from Uttar Pradesh’s Bishnoi secured All India Rank 1 in the UPSC Civil Services 2021 exam and earned laurels for herself and her alma-mater JNU. Sharma graduated from St Stephen’s College of Delhi University and then got her postgraduate degree from Centre of Historical Studies (CHS), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in Delhi. She, along with Ankita Agarwal and Gamini Singla have made history by bagging the Top 3 slots out of the Top 5 in the UPSC Toppers 2021 List.
Shruti Sharma, who topped the UPSC Civil Services 2021, revealed her strategy for preparing for the prestigious exam. She said she made her own notes from newspapers and focussed on “answer writing practice for better presentation”. The JNU alumna, who scored 340 out of 400 marks, said UP cadre is her first preference.
The UPSC Result 2021 for the Civil Services Examination, CSE was declared today on the official UPSC website – upsc.gov.in. A total of 685 candidates have been recommended by UPSC for the new batch of IAS officers, IFS officers and other posts with the Central Government.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated the successful candidates. “Congratulations to all those who have cleared Civil Services (Main) Exam, 2021. My best wishes to these youngsters who are embarking on their administrative careers at an important time of India’s development journey when we’re marking Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,” PM Modi tweeted.
