JCB’s set to task for removal of garbage from stagnant water & to clear blockage at Sonai Road
May 15: With a few spell of rainfall, many parts of Silchar gets water logged. Come rains and people of this town had to face immense hardships due to the artificial flood. Lack of proper drainage system is the prime reason for accumulation of rain water in the streets. Such a phenomenon is going on since a couple of years. On Friday, the residents of Sonai Road (Kanakpur Part-1) from near Bajaj Showroom till Relax Hotel submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, Cachar.
Responding to the appeal, Cachar District Administration installed three of J.C.B’s & two tippers at Sonai Road early morning on Sunday for the removal of garbage from stagnant water and to clear blockage.
At present, due to heavy rains, the locals urged that this portion of area at Sonai Road has become impossible to commute. As such, they demanded immediate intervention of the district administration. With the intervention of the administration on Sunday, much of the garbage got cleared by the JCB’s.
