It’s the world of woman power; girls are the epitome of strength towards nation building: DC Jalli
Feb. 17: “Girls are the epitome of strength towards nation building”, Cachar DC, Keerthi Jalli made this remark while addressing the outgoing students of class X & XII during a farewell meeting held at Government Girls’ Higher Secondary and Multipurpose School, Silchar on Thursday.
Motivating the students, DC Jalli, chief guest of the occasion said, “In today’s world, we have innumerable examples of harnessing women power, from winning Olympic medals for the country to becoming astronauts and Prime Minister of the country, women gave proved themselves to be successful. It is the duty of the girls to reach their goal by overcoming a number of obstacles while continuing their endeavour. In order to make a successful career, girls need to apply perseverance. At present, the use of internet has brought considerable benefits in the field of education and the students need to use it for advancement in their career,” DC Jalli added.
While talking about women empowerment, DC Jalli said, “Indian culture gives women the utmost respect. Even many of our Goddess are female and they have been worshipped as a deity by many faithful people. Women are epitome of wealth and power. Women play an important part in our society. If we wish to see a nation that develops economically on the global front, then it’s very important to have women empowerment. Quality education is the key to women’s empowerment, with the increase in literacy level and awareness, society has started giving importance to the education. Many parents want to educate their daughters equally as their son. Many women today are scientists, lecturers, collectors etc.” DC Jalli also urged the students to become self-reliant and not to leave studies until they complete their graduation. She also expressed her best wishes for their future.
Himashri Deka, Assistant Commissioner, Cachar and Coordinator, District Sarva Shiksha Mission, in her address emphasized on higher education in the arts, sciences or commerce and said that the success of life could be achieved by focusing on the studies and through this process of learning they could reach the pinnacle of success. In order to inspire the students, she also narrated her journey of preparing for civil service examination and cracked 35th position in the state.
Earlier, the Principal of Silchar Government Girls’ Higher Secondary and Multipurpose School, Bikash Chakraborty explained the purpose and objectives the programme. The programme was also attended by the teachers and students of the school.
