১৬ সেপ্টেম্বরঃ ফের মাদক দ্রব্য বাজেয়াপ্ত হল অসম-ত্রিপুরা সীমানার চুরাইবাড়িতে। এ বার অঙ্কটা ১০ লক্ষ টাকা ছাড়িয়ে। করিমগঞ্জ পুলিশ জানিয়েছে, একটি বোলেরো গাড়িতে তল্লাশির সময় ধরা পড়ে অসংখ্য মাদক ট্যাবলেট।এএস১০ডি ৫৮২১ নম্বরের গাড়িটি বাজেয়াপ্ত করা হয়েছে। পুলিশ তিন মাদক চোরাচালানকারীকে গ্রেফতার করেছে। তারা হল–নিলামবাজারের সোহেল আহমেদ ও আলাল উদ্দিন এবং আগরতলা আমতলির মিলন মিয়া। তবে মূল পাণ্ডা কথাবার্তার ফাঁকে পালিয়ে গিয়েছে। পুলিশ এখন তার সন্ধানে জাল বিছিয়েছে।

এ দিকে, আগরতলাতেও তিন মাদক চোরাচালানকারীকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়েছে। এরা দুটি মারুতি গাড়িতে করে ১৫ লক্ষ টাকার ফেন্সিডিল বাংলাদেশে পাচারের চেষ্টা করছিল। আড়ালিয়াতে ৩২০০ শিশি কফসিরাপ সহ ধরা পড়ে যায়। ধৃতরা আবুল হাসেম, আবুল বাসাক এবং শুভঙ্কর দেবনাথ। তিনজনেরই বাড়ি বাংলাদেশ সীমানা সংলগ্ন সোনামুড়াতে। তাদের কাছ থেকেও নগদ এক লক্ষ টাকাও বাজেয়াাপ্ত করা হয়েছে।

September 16: Once again intoxicants worth more than Rs. 10 lakh was seized Assam-Tripura bordering area of Churaibari. Karimganj Police has informed that the huge quantity of drug tablets was found from a Bolero car during routine search. The Bolero bearing No. AS10D 5821was also taken into custody by the police. Police has also arrested three drug smugglers. They are Sohail Ahmed and Alal Uddin from Nilambazar and Milan Miyan of Amtali, Agartala. However, the prime peddler escaped from the spot. Police are in the look out for him.

Meanwhile, 3 drug smugglers were also arrested from Agartala. They were in a mission to supply Phensedyl syrup worth Rs. 15 lakh to Bangladesh. The bottles of Phensedyl syrup were kept in two Maruti vans. Police caught them along with 3200 bottles of the syrup at a place called Araliya in Tripura. The three persons arrested are Abul Hosen, Abul Basak and Subhankar Debnath. All three are residents of a village called Sonamura on the border of Bangladesh. Further, cash Rs. 1 lakh has also been seized from them.
