International Women’s Day celebrated by Rotary Club of Green Land Silchar

March 8: Rotary Club of Green Land Silchar, D3240, celebrated the International Women’s Day in a befitting manner. Club felicitated Shefali Sutradhar , aged 63 years, who is a Newspaper Hawker by profession, from 30 years, and Kajoli Rongmai, who is involved in the sweeping activities, aged about 61 years. Both of them were felicitated with Uttariyo and also gave them Sarees and various other essential commodities.

Rotaractors from Rotaract Club of GC College Silchar were present in the program. The club later on organised  various cultural programs among the students of Netaji Vidyabhawan Girls High School.  A one-month Vocational Skill Development Program of earthen pot making was also started by the club. Further, to commemorate the day, installed a Visibility Showcase in the Goldighi Shopping Mall, which showcases women empowerment.

Rotary Club of Green Land organized an Essay Competition and Speech Competition in the Law Department of Assam University in collaboration with Rotaract Club of Assam University and Law Department. The winners were honoured with medals and certificates. Club President Rtn Madhumita Paul along with the Rotary family members were present during the occasion.
