International Human Rights Council felicitates Covid Warriors at SMCH

August 19: At a time, when the average daily detection of COVID-19 cases in the district of Cachar has gone upto 200, the health workers are in constant pressure. On Tuesday, a delegation of Cachar District Board of International Human Rights Council visited Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) and felicitated the doctors.

At a ceremony organised in the Administrative Hall of SMCH, the eminent doctors were felicitated by the Council. Expressing his views, Dr. Manoj Kumar Paul said, “We had the opportunity today to express our gratitude towards the corona warriors, who have been at the forefront of fighting the battle, we are indebted to all the doctors, nurses and other health workers who have been front line service warriors in this fight against the coronavirus.”

They have risen above the limits of their duty, save lives and ensure availability of essential services. We felicitated Principal of SMCH Dr. Babul Bezbaruah, Superintendent Dr. Abhijit Swami, Vice Principal Dr. Bhakar Gupta and some other doctors,” said Kabita Sengupta.

Present during the occasion were State President of International Human Rights Council Dayamay Barman, District President Dr. Manoj Kumar Paul, Chairperson of Barak Division Kabita Sengupta, Commerce Secretary Partha Shome, Youth Secretary Nikita Banik, Pinky Ghosh and others.
