Indian Railways redesignate the post of “Guard” as “Train Manager”

Jan. 15: Indian Railways has decided to redesignate the post of “Guard” as “Train Manager” with immediate effect. The revised designation is more in consonance with their existing duties & responsibilities and will improve the motivation level of Guards now Train Managers. Apart from this, the ‘Goods Guard’ will now be called ‘Goods Train Manager.’ However, the method of recruitment, pay levels and duties will remain the same. This was stated in a notification issued by the Ministry of Railways on 13 January, 2022.
