After suspension of Trump’s account, PM Modi most followed active politician on Twitter

Jan. 10: Twitter has announced that it has permanently suspended the account of US President Donald Trump because of “the risk of further incitement to violence.” Trump’s account, which had been locked for 12 hours after the turmoil at the US Capitol on Thursday, is now completely offline. All presidential tweets are no longer available. Before the suspension of his account, Trump had 88.7 million followers.

With this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now become the most followed active politician on Twitter after outgoing US President Donald Trump’s account was suspended. PM Modi currently has 64.7 million followers. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has 17.3 million followers.

However, former US President Barack Obama is still the most followed politician on Twitter with 127.9 million followers, US President-elect Joe Biden has 23.3 million followers.
