India records 2,82,970 fresh Covid cases, Omicron tally goes upto 8,961 on Wednesday

Jan. 19: India registered 2,82,970 Covid positive cases in last 24 hours on Wednesday. The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare on Wednesday stated that India’s active caseload currently stands at 18,31,000. The country also reported 441 deaths, taking the death toll to 4,87,202. The daily positivity rate also went up to 15.13%. 1,88,157 persons recovered from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate is 93.88 percent.

Further, a total of 8,961 Omicron cases were detected so far, which is an increase of 0.79 percent since Tuesday.
