India in talks with Johnson & Johnson regarding their single-dose vaccine

July 2: In a latest development, the Indian government is in talks with US-based Johnson & Johnson (JJ) regarding their single-dose vaccine. Dr VK Paul, Member-Health, Niti Ayog on Friday said that that JJ produces its single-shot vaccine outside the country. As per the plan, this vaccine will also be produced in Hyderabad’s Biological E.

Meanwhile, Johnson & Johnson (JJ) has said that their single shot Covid-19 vaccine produces a strong response against Delta variant of the virus. JJ also said that there is no need for the booster dose at the moment. The company added that its study found that the vaccine elicits neutralising anti-body activity over the course of atleast 8 months against all variants, including Delta.

Dr VK Paul further stated tat there are 56 Delta AY.1 (Delta A Plus) cases in 12 states of India. As per World Health Organisation (WHO) Delta variant has spread to 96 countries.
