Incubation centre started at GC College to foster growth of entrepreneurship
Jan. 19: To foster the growth of entrepreneurship and overall development of the students, Gurucharan College, Silchar has started an incubation centre which is first of its kind in entire Barak valley.
The objective of this centre is to bridge the gap between industry and academics and prepare the students for real life education by bringing resource person and sharing connectivity with the relevant industry people to guide them for their future endeavours. The session was inaugurated by Dr. Bibash Deb, Principal, GC College in presence of Coordinator, Internal Quality Assessment Cell (IQAC), Dr. Rajarshee Paul and other dignitaries.
Vivek Podder, President of Assam Chamber of Commerce, Southern Assam Chapter, DIC Assistant Manager, Lead District Manager, Chartered Accountants, Professors, Tech experts, Creative persons, entrepreneurs and business tycoons shared their inputs and ensured the Centre to provide necessary support and guidance.
The initiative has been taken by the faculty members of the Department of Commerce along with Biswajit Paul, an alumni, in order to create a platform under the guidance of the Principal and faculty members of Gurucharan College. Incubation centre plans to entrust the zeal of entrepreneurship through regular entrepreneurship sessions and also via organising idea competition across the valley that shall contribute to the development of the ecosystem and employment too in days to come.
