Incessant rainfall to continue in Northeast til 17 May: Regional Meteorological Centre
May 13: It has been raining cats and dogs in the North Eastern states since the last two to three days. As a result, the water level in all the major rivers of the region are also increasing. People in many parts of the region are in deep agony as the rivers have started approaching the danger level.
Now adding to the woes of the people, the Regional Meteorological Centre in Guwahati has predicted incessant and heavy rainfall over most of the North Eastern states till May 17. This weather condition is a result of moisture incursion from the Bay of Bengal over the northeastern states along with strong southerly and southwesterly winds.
