Inauguration of the New Infrastructure and Facilities of the Dept of Hospitality and Tourism Management
স্মার্ট ক্লাসরুম সহ উন্নত পরিকাঠামোর উদ্বোধন আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের আতিথেয়তা ও পর্যটন ব্যবস্থাপনা বিভাগে

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ১২ নভেম্বর : নতুন উন্নত পরিকাঠামো সহ নানা অত্যাধুনিক সুযোগ-সুবিধায় সাজিয়ে তোলা হলো আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের আতিথেয়তা ও পর্যটন ব্যবস্থাপনা বিভাগ। বুধবার এই অত্যাধুনিক সুযোগ-সুবিধার আনুষ্ঠানিক উদ্বোধন করেন উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক রাজীব মোহন পন্থ। এ উপলক্ষে আয়োজিত অনুষ্ঠানে অন্যদের মধ্যে উপস্থিত ছিলেন স্কুল অব ম্যানেজমেন্ট স্টাডিজের ডিন অধ্যাপক এইচ রামানন্দ সিং সহ বিভাগীয় অধ্যাপক, গবেষক ও শিক্ষার্থীরা।

স্বাগত বক্তব্যে বিভাগীয় প্রধান অধ্যাপক সঞ্জীব কুমার সাক্সেনা ২০২০ সালে প্রতিষ্ঠার পর থেকে ধাপে ধাপে বিভাগের অগ্রগতি ও রূপান্তরের উল্লেখযোগ্য যাত্রার কথা তুলে ধরেন। তিনি জানান, অত্যাধুনিক সম্মেলন কক্ষ, আধুনিক শিক্ষাদানের প্রযুক্তি সম্পন্ন স্মার্ট ক্লাসরুম, বিভাগীয় প্যান্ট্রি, প্রবেশপথ ইত্যাদির উদ্বোধন করা হয়েছে। তিনি এই অগ্রগতির পেছনে বিভাগীয় অধ্যাপক-শিক্ষাকর্মী সহ সংশ্লিষ্ট সবার অবদানের কথাও কৃতজ্ঞতার সঙ্গে স্মরণ করেন।

উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক রাজীব মোহন পন্থ স্বল্প সময়ের মধ্যেই বিভাগের প্রশংসনীয় অগ্রগতির জন্য সংশ্লিষ্ট সবাইকে অভিনন্দন জানান। তিনি দেশের অর্থনীতির বিকাশে পর্যটন খাতের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকার ওপর আলোকপাত করেন। তিনি উল্লেখ করেন, পর্যটন খাত কর্মসংস্থান সৃষ্টি, বৈদেশিক মুদ্রা অর্জন ও আঞ্চলিক উন্নয়নে উল্লেখযোগ্য অবদান রাখছে। পর্যটন শুধুমাত্র অর্থনৈতিক উন্নয়নের চালিকাশক্তি নয়, এটি দেশের সমৃদ্ধ সাংস্কৃতিক ঐতিহ্য, টেকসই উদ্যোগ ও অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক বিকাশ প্রচারের একটি কার্যকর মাধ্যমও।

অনুষ্ঠানের শেষলগ্নে চিত্তাকর্ষক ভিজ্যুয়াল প্রেজেন্টেশনের মাধ্যমে বিভাগের রূপান্তরের ছবি তুলে ধরা হয়। পুরনো কাঠামো থেকে নতুনভাবে উন্নীত অবকাঠামোয় রূপান্তর—যা উৎকর্ষ ও উদ্ভাবনের এক নতুন অধ্যায়ের সূচক। শেষে ধন্যবাদ সূচক বক্তব্য পেশ করেন ড. প্রদীপ কুমার।

Way2barak, November 12 : The Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Assam University, Silchar, marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its newly developed departmental infrastructure and modern facilities. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Rajive Mohan Pant, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and formally inaugurated the new facilities. The event was held in the presence of Prof. H Ramanand Singh, Dean, School of Management Studies, along with distinguished faculty members, research scholars, and students of the department.

In his Welcome Address, Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Saxena, Head of the Department, extended a warm welcome to all dignitaries and participants. He highlighted the department’s remarkable journey of growth and transformation since its establishment in 2020  Prof.Saxena further outlined the department’s recent infrastructural and academic enhancements — including improved access points, a state-of-the-art conference room, a departmental pantry, and smart classrooms equipped with modern teaching technologies to foster a dynamic and interactive learning environment.

Addressing the gathering, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajive Mohan Pant congratulated the department for its commendable progress within a short span of time. In his address, he emphasized the pivotal role of tourism in shaping India’s economy, noting that the sector contributes significantly to employment generation, foreign exchange earnings, and regional development. He further remarked that tourism not only serves as a key economic driver but also as a medium to promote India’s rich cultural heritage, sustainable practices, and inclusive growth. Prof. Pant encouraged the department to continue blending academic excellence with practical exposure, thereby nurturing skilled professionals capable of contributing meaningfully to the hospitality and tourism industry at both national and global levels.

Expressing gratitude, Prof. Saxena acknowledged the Vice-Chancellor for his continuous guidance and encouragement. He also appreciated the contributions of Prof. Soumendra Nath Biswas, Dr. Pradip Kumar, Dr. Pronobesh Ranjan Chakraborty, and Mr. Subnimal Pal, along with the enthusiastic participation of the department’s research scholars and students in realizing this vision.

The event concluded with a visual presentation showcasing the department’s transformation—from its earlier structure to the newly developed facilities—symbolizing a new chapter of excellence and innovation. The program ended with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Pradip Kumar, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, guests, and participants, and reaffirming the department’s commitment to advancing quality education, research, and professional development in the field of hospitality and tourism management.
